Visual Feedback

Here is some feedback scribbled on top of the images (click on the most intriguin part of each image to see it bigger)

Claire has a nice symmetry going on but some elements are hard to make out. Not all shaders are of the same visual complexity

The image from Anel is intriguing. It lacks punch, the one above is color corrected. Adding some highlights and shadows can help as well

There are strong elements in Lubna's image. There seems to be some inconsistency, with one tombstone being lit from the front.

Halloween Image Draft

Halloween Images

So, these are two images that I have so far for the Halloween assignment. I tried to play with the fog lighting effect, but I think it came out better in the pumpkin one. I'm not sure just yet if I'm going to stick with one of these images or do something else.

Halloween assignment: placement

Hey guys!

So far this is the camera angle and composition I had in mind for my halloween scene.
Wish the cat could be at least placing it's paws on the pumpkin but it turns out my rig and character model kind of sucks....so here's the next best thing.

Now need to add some lighting and backgrounds.

And sketches for final project will be posted sometime this week!

So see ya! Can't wait to see how everyone's halloween scene turns out! :)

This is a Title

After the previous, unfortunately title-less post, it is obvious not only animation from Eastern Europe can be hilarious and uplifting. Here is one from the same general region. Also dramatically low poly:

Did I mention I would like you to LABEL your posts? With your name for starters? I am expecting a number of posts using the "Halloween" label, by the way.

Ink Drawing Textures

Hey everyone! After yesterdays class, I remembered a game that uses a cartoony or hand-drawn style of animation. It's called Okami, and the animation is supposed to replicate Japanese brushstroke art. Even the game itself is played by using certain brushstrokes to do different attacks. Here's the link for the PS2 trailer =]

MY KITCHEN

Stop Motion Animation, that scares the Buh-Jezzes out of Me.

I wanted to share this animation, though it scares me, it is cool. Plus Claire really likes it.

Browsing the library

I was just alerted to the fact that our very own Sprague Library actually has a number of Maya eBooks available. Just search for "Maya"…

Colorful Animation Expressions

As we talked about color today, I thought I would share this blog with you. A great resource!

Real nice to see all the posts appear by the way! It would be even better if they all had titles and were properly labeled...

Freaky!

Hey Everyone!

So..I wasn't really sure what to post, so I figured I would just put up a video of the newest game in a series that I've loved since childhood: Kingdom Hearts! It's made by one of my favorite gaming companies Square Enix, and I've always loved the attention paid to character and story. Their newest game Dream Drop Distance was made for the 3Ds. It's a little long, but here's the link for the English trailer. It shows some of the opening animation as well as a peek into the different worlds they offer in this game. Hope you enjoy!

This is a wonderful animation, with an interesting take on environments and incredibly simplistic character designs that get its (awesome) political message across. And it does all this without the need for any crazy models!
Yay simplicity!

Fabric Meshes and Cloth Texturing

Talk about texturing...check out these crazy fabric meshes. Make sure to especially watch at 3:50 for the simulation tests which are mind blowing and 5:22 for the cow version of sweater dog.
