Brian Kapp Final Animation Characters

Hey Guys,

Also wanted to put this up for my final animation update. I am animating an Octopus and a Moray Eel in an underwater environment. Right now they are rigged and weight painted, but I am trying to used a spline to have the effect I am looking for - wanted to have an animation test ready for this week but I am a bit behind but figured I would post the main character models I have created.

I did the best I could to make it look like the one I did in PS - a little different but I am happy with the outcome, hope you guys enjoy! I know you guys will see it in class!

Cabin: Finished. Final Project: Ideas

Wrapped up. I keep having errors when I try uploading the original rendered image, but the only changes I made after the fact was some level adjusting in Photoshop.

Regarding the Final Project, I'm going to try to construct the room that my Senior Project takes place within. Creating all of the debris might not happen - or simply result in a lot of duplicating of items/trash - but the room is essentially in shambles, and dark. Through the course of my final animation, the room itself is meant to be dark (sans light, with some artistic license used simply so the interior CAN be seen by the viewer), only brightly lit at the very end. Since I need 6 images for the final for this class, though, I think I will tinker with the light flickering as it nears the turning-on point. Otherwise I'm sure I can find a few interesting camera angles to procure 6 images from. The room is meant to be black and white, but we'll see where I wind up with it in the end.

Here are some images I'm pulling ideas from:

Let's get 'er done.

Final Project Idear (sketch)

I think this is self explanatory. My six image ideas. I know the sketch is a little everywhere ( a cluster f@ck of lines and scribbles). I want to basically have a shot into this "magical" forest where a character of mine lives. It's part of my senior thesis project, so I will work harder at this to make it look good, meaning most plants will probably be sculpted. I will be using matte-painting so please don't look forward to seeing that. This project should be very annoying, and very difficult, but very well worth it in the end, so I hope. I believe there will be if not at least close to 20 different models in the foreground the rest will be images in layers overlapping each other. (remember, this is part of my senior thesis, it will be in an animation so this -will- be needed).

p.s: Yes, the rain forest will have glowing plants, it's magical.

p.s.s: Hurray for duplicated models!

Farm Scene

Here's my quick sketch for the lighting on the farm scene. I plan on going with a night time moonlit night sky with blue shadows and a blueish glow similar to a winter night with a full moon.
