Global Game Jam in New Jersey

And now for something completely different: one of my fellow board members at NYC ACM SIGGRAPH is organizing one of this years Global Game Jam locations:

"School of Art and Design (NJIT) is the local host for the Global Game Jam event that will start next Friday, Jan 27th and lasts through Sunday, Jan 29th. The Game Jam is a team effort with each team working on one or multiple games over the period of 48 hours. Anybody with interest in gaming can be an effective participant and contributor. To register go to globalgamejam.org sign up for the account, and add NJIT--New jersey institute of Technology (globalgamejam.org/sites/2012/new-jersey-institute-technology ) to your site.

Email Andrzej Zarzycki (andrzej.zarzycki [at ] njit.edu) if you have any question. We also plan on having a brief orientation meeting this coming Wednesday, at 4 PM, in the Gallery Space in the Weston Hall Building (College of Architecture and Design) for those who have questions or want to chat more about the event.

Please spread the word. If you have colleagues/classmates/friends who are interested in gaming. Here are links from the last year buzz: http://www.njit.edu/features/sceneandheard/game-jam.php and http://www.njit.edu/news/2011/2011-019.php ">
